Morley U11s v Huddersfield U11s

Morley U11s V Huddersfield YMCA U11s Rugby Match Report - 11/11/07
While the nation remembered those who had fallen in service of their country, Morley U11s' journeymen took a trip to Laund Hill, Salendine Nook, home of Huddersfield YMCA, on probably the coldest day of this season so far.
Unfortunately due to other commitments and a bout of illness effecting several players, Morley could only turn-out an under-strength team and required two loan players from YMCA to play.
Huddersfield YMCA kicked off which enabled Morley to have early possession and straight away they produce some good phases, with the forwards recycling the ball well.
But as soon as YMCA gained possession they ran in their first try, which was aptly converted. The next score for YMCA came from them winning a scrum against the head, to make the score 12-0. And again just before half-time, YMCA displaying their dominance of the first half, ran in another try from open play, making the half-time score 17-0.
A quick rallying of the troops by coach John Firth at half-time bolstered the Morley spirit and enabled Morley's players to 'stick at it', although again defending for most of the second half, in which YMCA scored a further four tries giving the full-time score of 43-0.
The Morley players really struggled to get to grips with this game, but they never gave up and kept tackling hard, with valuable playing experience gained for the new forward players Rhys Sharp and Edward Kelly.
